How to lodge an application
How to lodge a visa application or a citizenship application including a citizenship by descent application
To provide better service to our clients, the Visa Section of the Australian Embassy Beirut has adopted an appointments system. This means that if you are planning to come in person to our Office, we ask that you contact us first to make an appointment.
How do I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment in one of three ways:
• email immigration.beirut.appointments@dfat.gov.au
• send a fax to +961 1 960 671
• call +961 1 960 670 between 0830-1230 Monday to Friday
All requests for appointments by email or fax will be responded to either on the day or on the first working day after we receive your e-mail.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
So that we can provide a high quality service, we ask that you arrive on time for your appointment. If you are unable to make your allocated time, you may be requested to make another appointment time.
You will need to show identification. Only applicants and sponsors or an appointed Agent (where relevant) will be admitted. Other persons not party to the application will not be admitted.
Please bring all relevant documentation, as outlined on the relevant checklist. Complete applications accompanied by all relevant documentation enable us to process your application more quickly.
Please endeavour to let us know as soon as possible if you cannot keep an appointment.
How do I get my decision?
When lodging your application it is recommended you complete a Libanpost consignment note with your full details for Libanpost to deliver your visa decision and/or your citizenship by descent certificate to your nominated address. This service is on a cash-on-delivery basis and will cost $5 USD per application/ family group. This cost-effective service will reduce the number of times you will need to attend the Embassy.
How do I get other information?
Forms and information about visas for Australia are available from the website of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship www.immi.gov.au. Forms and information about Australian citizenship are available from www.citizenship.gov.au.
