Important Changes to Passport Application Procedures from 1 July 2008
- From 1 July 2008 you may be required to present additional documents if your name shown on your Australian passport is different to your name shown on your Australian citizenship certificate or your name registered with an Australian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
- Fees for passport applications will increase on 1 July 2008.
- New passport application forms will be issued from 1 July 2008. If you already have an application form you should lodge it as soon as practicable. Old application forms will not be accepted after September 2008.

If your Australian passport has already expired or is due to expire within the next 12 months, you should consider lodging your application for a replacement passport as soon as possible.
